When did you first get into lifting and a fitness minded outlook?
I first got into a fitness minded outlook when I was about 13 years old. I was a chubby kid and wanted to get in shape to play football so I started boxing outside of school. By the end of my freshman year in high school, I started to lift weights in preparation for the following year’s football tryout.
What got and kept you motivated in the early days?
I fell in love with the way weightlifting and training hard made me look and feel.
What keeps you motivated now?
I still love the way training makes me look and feel, but I use it for stress relief as well now.
When did you get into bodybuilding rather than simply lifting?
I started bodybuilding right before I deployed to Afghanistan. My first show was actually 2 weeks prior to me leaving to go overseas. I prepped for about 24 weeks for that show.
What role does your military experience play in your fitness/ mindset/ motivation if any?
My role in the military really hindered my training for competitions. It was part of the reason I got out.
So Since Your Military Experience “Hindered” Your Ability To Train Properly, How Did You Persevere Through That?
I basically just trained when I could. When on missions I found gyms on bases and when I was deployed I trained at different gyms on the FOBs (Foreign Operating Base).
How long have you been a personal trainer?
I have been a personal trainer for about 3 years off and on again.
How do you motivate your clients?
I motivate my clients with pain and torture!!! Lol Jk I just remind them that they need to keep their goals in mind.

As a proud but discerning Mom, I am always genuinely pleased to experience my daughter’s nkfitness.co blog with each new publication. Thus far, I’m very pleased with what she offers to her viewers, followers, and participants, whether in the gym, at CrossFit, and online! There is a very inviting tone to each blog that encourages folk from beginners to long-time experts to learn more and to share tips about fitness. Bravo Nora!
